Timeline for 2027–2028 Self Study and Visit

Middle States Reaccreditation Semester-by-Semester Timeline:

Fall 2025

  • Select Self-Study Co-chairs
  • Attend Middle States Self-Study Institute (co-chairs)
  • Appoint and charge Steering Committee
  • Establish intended outcomes for self-study
  • Form and charge work groups; work groups establish lines of inquiry for each standard

Spring 2026

  • Establish Institutional Priorities for Self-Study
  • Draft self-study design
  • Invite members of community to open session with MSCHE Vice President Liaison
  • Self-Study Preparatory Visit by MSCHE Vice President (April 14th)
  • Submit self-study design to MSCHE for approval
  • End-of-semester progress report to key stakeholder group

Fall 2026

  • Gather and compile documentation for work groups and evidence inventory
  • Draft work group reports (templates) work groups begin studying their standard and exploring their lines of inquiry
  • End-of-semester progress report to key stakeholder groups
  • Spring 2027
  • Submission of work group reports
  • Begin drafting self-study
  • Identify team chair and dates for team visit (with Middle States)
  • End-of-semester progress report to key stakeholder groups

Fall 2027

  • Share draft of self-study report with university community
  • Host Team chair preliminary visit
  • Finalize self-study
  • Compile and upload evidence inventory
  • Submission of self-study to MSCHE and evaluation team chair
  • End-of-semester progress report to key stakeholder groups

Spring 2028

  • Invite members of Temple community to participate in evaluation visit
  • Host evaluation visit (February/March TBD)
  • Receive team report
  • Respond to team report
  • Receive notification of accreditation status (June 2028)
  • Campus-wide announcement and celebration of reaccreditation (summer/fall 2028)
